The Biggest Class Action Settlements Open in 2026

Ranked by total fund size and per-claimant payout potential. AT&T, Kia/Hyundai, BoA, and the BIPA cases lead the year.

Five settlements stand out in the first half of 2026, either by total dollar size, per-claimant potential, or the speed of the closing deadline. Quick rundown of each.

AT&T 2024 Data Leak ($177 million)

Two separate 2024 incidents are bundled into one settlement. The March 2024 dark-web leak exposed records on roughly 73 million current and former AT&T customers. The April 2024 call-record leak exposed phone metadata for nearly all AT&T wireless customers between 2022 and 2023. Baseline payouts are $50 to $150. Documented-loss claims top out at $5,000.

If you ever had AT&T wireless service, you are almost certainly eligible. AT&T sent notifications by mail and SMS in late 2024, but the class is broader than the notified group. Verify on the att.com support page tied to the court order.

Kia / Hyundai Theft Vulnerability ($200 million)

Owners of 2011-2022 Kia and Hyundai vehicles with mechanical (non-push-button) ignition can claim reimbursement for theft losses up to $6,125, plus a $300 cash card. The TikTok-publicized theft trend exposed that these vehicles lacked engine immobilizers, making them easy to start with a USB cable.

The settlement also covers software updates and free steering wheel locks. If your vehicle was stolen or damaged in a theft attempt, this is the largest available auto settlement.

Bank of America / 7-Eleven Rewards ($15.5 million)

Newer case, announced 2026-05-12. US residents who held a BoA debit or credit card linked to a 7-Eleven rewards account between 2020 and 2024 can claim up to $40, plus account credits for active cardholders. Smaller per-claimant fund, but lower friction since you mostly just need the card and rewards account email.

Snap BIPA Lens Filter ($35 million)

Illinois-only case under the state's Biometric Information Privacy Act. Anyone who used Snapchat Lenses or Filters that scanned facial geometry between 2015 and 2024, while an Illinois resident, can claim approximately $58 to $115. BIPA cases pay better per claimant than most other privacy class actions because Illinois statutory damages are high.

Robinhood Trading Restrictions ($9.9 million)

If you held GME, AMC, BB, or other restricted symbols on Robinhood during the January 2021 trading halt, you qualify. Pro rata distribution based on number of shares. The fund is small, so individual payouts will be modest, but the case has historical significance and the claim is fast to file.

Honorable mentions

The Facebook Internet Tracking settlement is in its final distribution phase, with only address updates being accepted for already-approved claims. Apple Family Sharing Music ($25 million) targets misleading marketing of paid music subscriptions and is open through August 2026. Amazon Flex Driver Tips ($61.7 million) is in final distribution.

The pattern across all 2026 settlements: most of the action is in data breach, biometric privacy, and consumer financial products. Auto and employment continue to produce mid-size cases. The headline AI-related settlements (training data, scraping, voice cloning) are mostly still in pre-trial stages and will not generate consumer class actions until 2027 or later.
